The objects of worship in Dàotai are worshipped in concert, as part of a whole.
The Emperor. The ruler of the Apple Isles and a common ancestor to every sentient being there upon. He is revered as the father of all, and represents the 5th element: Heaven.
The Emperor’s Tree.
The Elemental Conclave. The emperor’s councillors. There are 4 in total, each on representing a different element: water, earth, fire and air.
Kami. Generally benevolent spirits that exist in all things. They are often mischievous and temperamental, and the majority of worship is based on keeping them content and tractable. These are the most common defenders of settlements.
Ancestors. The forebears of a family are held in high regards and respects. These are the link between the common man and the emperor, and the ones who paved the way for the current generation.
The Atlants take this ancestral worship one step further, and particularly revere a few distinguished ancestors known as exemplars. These ancestors are believed by the atlants to have ascended to a higher state of being.
